ABOUT THOM TROUT

Thom Trout has been riding and training both hunters and jumpers since the early 1970's. From 1972 to 1976 he trained and competed in 3-day eventing as an Olympic hopeful. In 1975 he was long listed for the Montreal Olympic Games. Unfortunately, the horse that was to compete became injured and was unable to attend.

From 1982 to 1987 Thom was the Director and a Partner at Our Farm Inc in Norristown, PA. The facility was a newly built commercial riding center at the time. Once there he created a business plan which resulted in 73 boarding cutomers and 200 riding lessons per week. All while maintaining 35 horses that were competing at both the National and International level. Continuing to do a great deal of sales, Thom was brokering and importing $750,000.00 to $1,000,000.00 yearly in horse deals. During his time there Thom also helped develop the Our Farm Inc and Briarwood Farm horse show series.

After leaving Our Farm Inc, Thom purchased a 20 acre, 28 stall working horse farm in Frenchtown, NJ where he continued to train, show, and broker local and improted show horses. In 1993 Thom was asked to coach the US team in the Central American Games in Ponce, Puerto Rico, winning both the individual and team Silver Medals.

Thom then moved in 2000 to Essex Equestrian Center in West Orange, NJ where he was the Director and Head Trainer for seven years. Upon arrival, the operation was failing. Within the first year revenue increased by 2900% and safety improved by 73%. The facitilty averaged 300 riding lessons per week and provided a Certified Riding for the Handicapped program on location that averaged 90 lessons per week.

Thom has recently returned to conducting business during the summer in Pompton Plains, NJ and spending the winter months in both Ocala and Wellington, FL.

ABOUT STEPHANIE ROMANS

Stephanie started riding at age 7 in her hometown of Allendale, NJ helping with a locally owned and operated summer camp and lesson program. As her interest in horses evolved Stephanie worked in every aspect of the industry. From working at local barns and helping anyone who would give her a chance to ride and learn anything there was to understand about horses she continued to enhance her knowledge and abilities. During this time, she learned how to ride, train, care for, as well as prepare and present horses for sale.

After high school Stephanie went on to Fordham University where she attended classes for two years before transferring to Ithaca College. There Stephanie rode on the intercollegiate team at Ithaca and also rode at nearby Cornell University.

At age 21, Stephanie began managing one of the highest end show stables with horses second to none in price and prestige. For four years Stephanie provided riding, coaching, training, and horse care and stable management. She then chose to continue the evolution of her career by going to Wellington, FL to work with Thom Trout. There she spent the winter riding, showing and coaching with Thom and succesfully overseeing the day to day management of the whole operation.

Stephanie continues riding, training and showing world class horses and riders everyday along with Thom in Pompton Plains, NJ.
